10 Tag Teams WWE Should Reform

6. Finn Bálor & Samoa Joe

Remember that time Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe were in NXT and they won the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic? That was only back in 2015, but feels like decades ago in the world of wrestling.

This pairing was very brief and really only designed to give Joe an opportunity to turn on Finn for a shot at the then NXT champion. But what if this time around the tables were turned?

With everyone expecting Finn to rejoin his former Bullet Club mates in The OC upon his return, why not let that build up go on for a while? Have Finn turn heel by joining Joe and letting them dominate the tag division. This will catch the eye of AJ Styles, who will try to recruit the pair to join. But just when it looks like they’ve decided to both turn face and reject the offer, let Bálor be the one to turn on Joe.

This can give Samoa Joe a run at being a face, something WWE has flirted with before, and lets Finn really establish himself as the dominant heel that he was back in NJPW. We could also get a brilliant reimagining of the Joe and Bálor feud from NXT out of this as well. And of course, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe have a history all their own. There are various connections amongst the group that span beyond even the borders of the United States, which is a great base for long term storytelling.

But they aren’t the only pair on this list with “worldwide” ties.
