10 Tag Teams WWE Should Reform
5. Titus O’Neil & Apollo Crews
Although this pair got about a one year run together, it never felt like they reached the potential of what they could have accomplished. Perhaps it was due to Akira Tozawa departing the group early on, making the namesake a little nonsensical. Or maybe the fact they are a tag team in the modern-day WWE. That never tends to translate to getting the spotlight on you unless you’re betraying your partner to become a singles competitor.
But this pairing just seemed destined to be something great. Titus had a great run with Darren Young as the Prime Time Players (Pancake Patterson and their awful feud being the exceptions to the rule) and Apollo Crews is oozing potential. The man makes a standing shooting star press look easy.
This would need some rebranding to further themselves from being Titus Worldwide 2.0, so some gimmick changes and a heel turn might be in order. But this would be an exciting pair to then be put up against The New Day for their titles after their turn. And there aren’t many teams at all that you could say that about at this point.
And with the prestigious title of first ever 24/7 champion, they must have a big push in line for Titus. I mean that is why they made Robert Roode (who ended Titus’ one minute reign) an instant tag contender overnight, right? The 24/7 title is a belt with rich prestige, after all.
