10 Talented Stars The WWE Locker Room Hated

1. Shawn Michaels

No man in the history of the WWE has been more universally detested than Shawn Michaels, especially during his run at the top of the card in the 1990s. Described as arrogant, scheming and a kiss-ass (especially towards Vince McMahon), many figures in the wrestling industry harbour grudges against HBK, and regularly tell stories of his unsavoury behaviour in various shoot interviews. Some detest him for his key role in the Montreal Screwjob (although he and Bret Hart shockingly made up on WWE television in 2010), while many more claim he was an unscrupulous backstage politician, bending Vince's ear and refusing to put anyone over. His torch-passing loss to Steve Austin at WrestleMania 14 reportedly involved Undertaker standing behind the curtain with taped fists, by way of intimidating Michaels out of deviating from the booking plans and retaining his title. The latter portion of Shawn Michaels' WWE career (following his return from a back injury sustained in the late 1990s) has been wildly different from the first half. Proclaiming himself to be a born-again Christian, he has encountered far less controversy and is now something of a beloved figure among fans. However, many detractors including Gregory Helms and Jim Cornette consider this new attitude a complete fabrication, and claim that Shawn is still the same selfish, egotistical character he's always been. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKW4lnwRDsE
