10 Tantalizing WWE Versus New Japan Dream Matches

1. John Cena Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi

One man is a record-setting world champion and a perennial main-eventer. He's anchored his company for years as the ultimate babyface, winning particular favor with young fans. He may be getting older, but he's still the ace of his entire promotion. The other man is John Cena. Cena and Tanahashi have more similarities than differences (and an argument against Cena's ring work shouldn't even be considered -- like Tanahashi, he's had more classic matches than anyone in his promotion over the past decade). Both are the supremely talented and charismatic flagships of their companies, larger-than-life heroes in an era with fewer and fewer of them. A match between the two legends is irresistible to imagine and would be amazing to witness. Both men are masters of the big-match scenario, and when Tanahashi caught Cena coming off the ropes for a Five Knuckle Shuffle with a Sling Blade, or Cena grabbed Tanahashi as he attempted a High Fly Flow and hoisted him into an AA, the response would be electrifying. No matter whose hand would be raised after the marathon encounter ended, it would be a clash for the ages.
