For all the bright colours and bizarre storylines, it's hard to make a case that NXT 2.0 was a success. There have been a few rays of light, such as the development of Mandy Rose, Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker. You can add The Creed Brothers to that list, too.
Sometimes, wrestling can be at it's best when it's at it's simplest form. For all the pomp and ceremony, the tremendous characters or the killer promos, sometimes just being a duo who can destroy people and make it look legitimate is what's needed. It's what made Shayna Baszler such a force in the old Black and Gold days.
Julius and Brutus Creed completely inhabit that methodology, and whilst NXT has tried to give them some storylines, especially around the break-up of Diamond Mine, the brothers just need to step between the ropes and deliver. Because their delivery is so snug, the fans will get on board.
Answering an open challenge by The Usos and being laughed off would be a great set up, and having them immediately beat the record breaking champions would not only be an incredible moment, it would instantly establish them as the hottest young tag team in wrestling.
