10 Terrible Wrestling Matches (That Should Have Been Great)

1. Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon (WWE WrestleMania XXVI)

Before digging into this point, it'd be silly not to point out that Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon was never going to be great by 2010.

No, any match between cheated wrestler and vindictive boss needed to happen before Bret retired full-time from the ring due to his health. The fact he couldn't bump by WrestleMania XXVI should tell everyone how bad an idea this one was. WWE didn't care. They had more money to squeeze from the 'Montreal Screwjob' drama and seized what they viewed as their only chance to write McMahon's ultimate comeuppance. Had this happened prior to Hart's concussion in 1999 and stroke in 2002, maybe it could've worked, but 2010 was far too late.

The powerful brawls McMahon had worked with Steve Austin, his son Shane, Triple H, Hulk Hogan and more seemed like a distant memory when Bret wobbled awkwardly around the ring pasting him with a steel chair; so one-sided was the beating that fans sympathised towards Vince and almost turned him babyface.

Terrible.
