10 Terrible Wrestling Moments (That Were Almost Even Worse)

3. The Gobbledy Gooker Was Bad, But...

The Gobbledy Gooker remains quite possibly the most inexplicable creation ever.

An anthropomorphic holiday-specific mascot, it didn't work beyond Thanksgiving, Hector Guerrero couldn't work because he was wearing oversized gimmick turkey feet, he couldn't deliver a promo because he spoke exclusively in gobbledy, he couldn't emote with his eyes because he had a mask with golf ball-looking things hanging off it...

The Survivor Series 1990 angle - nay, selling point - was a fatalistic disaster.

A turkey.

The character vanished offscreen when even the young children vocally rejected it. It is fondly remembered as a dud even by WWE in various retrospectives. "What are we bloody like, eh?"

Now, 'Taker only feared, by connecting dots that weren't actually related, that he'd debut as the 'Egg Man'. This was not the actual plan, but it wasn't unreasonable: Vince initially wasn't high on this skyscraper of a man, incredibly enough. He had to be convinced to sign him.

And to think: if Calaway had found himself within that giant prop, generations of wrestling fans wouldn't have witnessed two years of greatness before the Attitude Era, one hell of a part-timer run, and action about as dynamic as the egg in-between.
