2. Shawn Michaels Is JBL's Employee

In one of the most utterly ludicrous plot points to ever come out of WWE, it was revealed that multi-millionaire and multi-time World Champion, Shawn Michaels, who was in the midst of filming a TV show about his pursuits outside of wrestling, was financially broke. Fans had a hard time accepting the idea of HBK not having a pot to do the proverbial in, and the entire thing was envisioned simply to transition Michaels into a feud with The Undertaker. Swooping in, JBL offered to employ Michaels, meaning he could continue to support his family. It was all pretty daft, but somehow the performances of JBL and Shawn Michaels made it work. As skeptical as people were to the idea of Shawn being down on his luck, there was an uncomfortable, broken look about him on television, one which convinced people to give a damn. That right there is an excellent example of why HBK is lauded as one of the greatest of all time, taking something so silly and making it work.
