10 Terrible WWE Reinventions

4. DDP > 'Stalker' DDP

Unlike Barry Windham, who sneaked into the WWF as a sort of benevolent Predator, Diamond Dallas Page creeped into the company in the role of a much more traditional L.B. Jefferies stalker.

After several weeks of The Undertaker's wife (literally referred to as 'Sara Undertaker') being preyed upon, the mystery perv ditched the telescopes and veiled threats to reveal himself as the ex-WCW champ. Supposedly, his intentions were not as nefarious as they appeared; DDP simply wanted to make a scene in his new surroundings, and what better way than goading The Deadman?

It certainly sprung him into the spotlight. Sadly for DDP, he spent much of his fifteen minutes there being ritually tarred and feathered by the furious Phenom. He was taught some lesson - though, between the lines, it was mostly about what happens to the product of a rival.

And to think Page bought himself out of his fat Time Warner contracted for this opportunity. If there's one lesson to be learned, it's: "don't be a stalker." In case you didn't already know that.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
