In that case, he's needed suddenly to salvage the wellbeing (and indeed the credibility) of one of the company's biggest ever stars. This wasn't quite that, but the circumstances were potentially even more dire had the rail-hopper linked up with his target.

'The Game' had just defeated both The Big Show and The Rock to theoretically ruin the planned WrestleMania main event before Linda McMahon arrived on the scene to reveal Mick Foley as a new fourth and complete the "McMahon in every corner" saga designed to sell the biggest event of WWE's most prosperous ever period. All good until a fan managed to get right in between them on the ramp.

Hunter acted immediately for the good of his future wife and mother-in-law, smothering the fan until security could appear and ensuring that enough television time remained for McMahon to make her grand statement. It was a familiar scene...
