8. The Ultimate Warrior Foretells His Own Death

The nice way of putting it is that "the Ultimate Warrior leaves behind a complicated legacy".

The accurate way of putting is that the Ultimate Warrior was an unrepentantly awful human being who seemed to delight in the misery - even the slow, agonising death - of others.

He still left behind a wife and two young daughters. His own death, and very few deaths in fact, are no cause for celebration. In a scene that remains incredibly eerie, he foretold it live on Monday Night Raw on April 7, 2014.

His words were unsettling, as if he somehow knew his death was imminent. In retrospect, it was no surprise; Warrior was blushed an unnatural and unhealthy bright red, and the act of entering the ring and cutting a far less intense promo than his vintage appeared, through the sheen of sweat and shallow breathing, to be acts of strenuous physical exertion.

It actually was close to his vintage in terms of content if not delivery, in that it was themed on death; he was oddly fixated on discussing the grim subject matter as a child-friendly hero in his prime. He said, amongst other things:

"Every man's heart one day beats its final beat, his lungs breathe their final breath - and if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalised."

"Every man's heart one day beats its final beat."

He died one day later.
