10 "Then Versus Now" WWE Dream Matches
3. Finn Balor Vs. Daniel Bryan
Sadly, the legendary career of Daniel Bryan came to a close earlier this year when the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was forced to retire due to concussion-related illnesses.
Though wrestling fans would forever be grateful for his sacrifices and contributions, they - and he - were devastated that he'd never be wrestling again.
The new influx of WWE and NXT talent that's arrived over the past couple of years represents a ton of potential Bryan matches that would have made us salivate. Rematches with Samoa Joe and Hideo Itami would have been great, as would a meeting with Nakamura, but a bout with Finn Balor could have taken the cake.
Both men took similar paths in their careers. Born only two months apart, they started wrestling in their late teens and accumulating as much experience and knowledge as possible. Both trained in European styles of wrestling and became international superstars before signing with WWE.
The personalities of the two super-talented technicians would make their match even more exciting. Bryan was the ultimate likeable underdog, a completely honest babyface who made no secret of how much he loved what he did.
Balor may be a face at the moment, but as leader of New Japan's Bullet Club, he emerged as a sneaky heel who was willing to build an army to get to the top.
The match would be good versus evil, bully versus underdog. The fact that it would feature two of the best wrestlers in the world would be an added bonus.
