Ever since World Championship Wrestling went out of business as a standalone company in March, 2001, people have wanted to see Sting in the WWF/WWE. It felt only a matter of time back then, but the Stinger would end up working a few independent dates before signing with TNA instead. He didn't make his first in person appearance for WWE until the 2014 edition of Survivor Series. That was memorable, but not half as much as what happened next. For years, fans had wondered who might win between The Undertaker and Sting. That match didn't happen, and the ship seems to have sailed on the prospect of it ever coming to be. Seeking something different, WWE matched the WCW legend up with Triple H, and the pair battled at WrestleMania 31. It was pretty incredible to see Sting stroll out onto the ramp at WrestleMania. Indeed, looking into the man's eyes made it clear that this was a special moment for him too. Fans are divided on the quality and outcome (a Triple H win) of 'Mania, but it can't be denied that it was awesome to see Sting finally appear on the grandest stage pro wrestling can provide its performers. There are no guarantees, due to injury, that Sting will wrestle again, making the bout even more easy to cherish.
