9. WWE Struggle To Convince Fans On Roman Reigns
Over the past few years, WWE have shown themselves to really be struggling when it comes to appeasing fans with the Royal Rumble. In 2014, Batista was chosen to win the 30-man, over-the-top-rope match. Clearly, people didn't want that to happen, and fans forced a Batista heel turn (even though he was supposed to be the top babyface) shortly afterwards. In similar fashion, the fan base were turned off by the 2015 bout. The match winner, Roman Reigns, was again not a popular choice. Even The Rock, who endorsed Reigns post-victory, couldn't help proceedings. This was supposed to be the win which propelled Roman into the spotlight of being top babyface, but fans wanted Daniel Bryan instead. So strong were complaints that WWE were forced to insert them into the story. Bryan faced Reigns at Fast Lane, in a match designed to settle the issue between WWE management and fans once and for all. Reigns would win the battle, and go on to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Fans still weren't convinced, which is a problem that's plagued the wrestler throughout the year. Even when he's been crowned WWE Champion, there are still people unsure of Roman Reigns.
