One of the stranger moments at Double Or Nothing came after the tag team match between The Best Friends (Chuckie T and Trent Beretta) and Jack Evans and Angelico.

After the match, the lights went out in the arena. When they came back up, two men were standing in the ring with the two teams. The lights went out again and when they were turned back on, these invaders were joined by a whole host of masked men who preceded to beat down The Best Friends and Evans and Angelico with a series of brutal moves.

If this sounds vague, that's because the commentary team sounded like they had absolutely no idea what was going on and not in a way that made it sound like they were selling the action. They didn't even identify the mystery attackers - indie tag team, the Super Smash Brothers.

The Smash Brothers - comprised of Marc Dionne (unmasked) and Evil Uno (masked) - are former tag team champions in PWG and Chikara, so they are an established act. This makes it even stranger that the commentary team didn't reveal who they were.

Fans were left scratching their heads at this bizarre debut, but many have faith that AEW will follow up on this angle very soon. Their next show is taking place at a video games festival, so...
