There were many reasons why Raw's ratings had been in the tank for the past few months, but an under-the-radar reason is that nothing really ever happens on Raw again. Back in the Attitude Era, Raw was appointment viewing. You couldn't afford to miss it, because something interesting was almost guaranteed to happen every week. In 2015, because WWE had to drive up Network subscriptions, they saved their major events for the Pay Per Views, and Raw's ratings suffered as a result. That all changed a week ago when Raw hit us with a surprise WWE World Championship match and title change. If fans think that something will happen each week on Raw, they'll tune in. So in 2016, more surprises need to happen, including more World Title matches, surprise returns, and memorable moments.
