10 Things You Didn't Know About Kane

9. He Was Also Fake Diesel

When Scott Hall and Kevin Nash jumped to WCW and started appearing on Monday Nitro, they were acting a lot like their WWF characters Razor Ramon and Diesel and WCW danced around naming them by constantly saying "We know who they are". WWF weren't too happy about this, and sued WCW over the use of their intellectual property. To further hammer home that WWF owned the rights to "Razor Ramon" and "Diesel" they had Jim Ross, who was playing somewhat of a disgruntled employee at the time, hype up the return of the pair on Monday Night Raw broadcasts. This eventually led to the debut of Fake Razor Ramon and Fake Diesel, played by Rick Bognar and Jacobs respectively. WWF introducing new versions of their classic characters just shows how desperate Vince McMahon was becoming as the Monday Night War began to heat up. The angle and characters were instantly reviled and mocked, when Jerry Lawler is on commentary calling something out for being stupid, you know you've got a problem on your hands. The team of "Ramon" and "Diesel" would only last from September 1996 through to January 1997. Once again Jacobs had an impressive Royal Rumble being the second-to-last entrant eliminated, but the characters were wisely taken off TV and Jacobs wouldn't be seen again until Kane's debut in October of that year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITjk_Dd59z8 What's hilarious is that when WCW heard WWF promoting the return of Ramon and Diesel, they instantly offered Hall and Nash a boatload more money to stick around, which The Outsiders naturally accepted.
