Having already conquered the worlds of professional wrestling and cinema, The Rock's next plan of action seems to be a jump to the small screen. The premise of 'Ballers' is a look into the lives of professional athletes and those who revolve around them. In a deal agreed with HBO back in February he is to star as Spencer Strasmore, a retired football player, alongside John David Washington (the son of Denzel). The project's production is backed not only by The Rock himself, but also Mark Wahlberg. Time will tell if this next stage of Dwayne Johnson's career is just as successful as the rest of it. If history is to be believed, he'll come good eventually - but not after a few surprising twists and turns along the way.
