10 Things You Didn't Know About Vince McMahon

9. He Overcame Dyslexia And Attention Deficit Disorder

Dyslexia is a cognitive disorder that manifests itself when it comes to reading and writing. Though the disease is stereotypically characterized as letters or words appearing "backwards" to afflicted individuals, that's a relatively rare symptom €“ in general, dyslexia is diagnosed based on overall difficulty with written language and the comprehension of it. Additionally, a larger-than-average number of dyslexic individuals also suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder (not to be confused with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which brings with it as symptoms difficulty concentrating and forgetfulness. As a boy, Vince McMahon suffered from both of these illnesses. Given the circumstances of his childhood (more on that later), it's very unlikely he received any sort of regimented help €“ he was sent to military school, but it's doubtful that such an institute, in the 1950s-1960s, was equipped to handle issues such as those. It's a testament to McMahon that he was able to graduate from the academy, receive his college degree, and become a hugely successful businessman given that level of adversity.
