10 Things You Don't Know About WWE In 1993

7. Bret Hart Defeated Bam Bam Bigelow With The Same Victory Roll Spot Over And Over Again In 1993

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HagntRJfII8 Those of us who remember the 1993 King of the Ring Final remember that Bret Hart beat Bam Bam Bigelow in an interesting way. Bam Bam threw Bret into the corner and charged. Hart put his foot up and kicked Bigelow in the face, stunning him and turning him around. Bret then jumped to the second turnbuckle, got on Bam Bam€™s shoulders, waved his arms a couple of times for momentum, then rolled forward in a victory roll for the three count. It was a really interesting and unique way to end the match that didn€™t involve the Sharpshooter. But it was by no means spontaneous. In fact, Bret and Bam Bam had rehearsed that finishing spot more than 20 times before. In January and March of 1993, as part of house shows, Bret defended the WWF Championship against Bam Bam numerous times, and won the match with that exact same spot each time. See the video posted above for proof. Not only that, but one of their matches was taped for Coliseum Home Video and featured the same finish as well. It€™s not completely uncommon to rehearse a spot on house shows to see if it will be effective for television, but this specific spot had to be noted because it was an iconic finish to the first ever King of the Ring Tournament win on Pay Per View.
