6. WWF Had A Wrestler Called The Cuban Terrorist When It Toured Florida
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWvErHB4GDI David Canal is a veteran of the Puerto Rico based World Wrestling Council, and spent some time in WCW in the 1990s as Fidel Sierra. He was also known in some circles as The Cuban Assassin. In March of 1993, when WWF made a tour of Florida, he was able to wrestle on non-televised live events in Lakeland, West Palm Beach, Daytona Beach, and Miami. He was billed as The Cuban Terrorist, supposedly to generate heat as theres a large Cuban population in Florida, especially southern Florida. This fact is worth bringing up considering how politically correct the WWE has gotten 20 years later, with its PG rating and stockholders. You wouldnt dare have anybody billed as any kind of terrorist these days. The last wrestler that was even hinted to have terrorist loyalties was Muhammad Hassan in 2005, and he was quickly pulled off television when he directed a group of hooded men to attack The Undertaker.
