10 Things You Don’t Know About WWE In 1996

2. The Hart Family Children Wrestled An Official Match

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evqhTDIukaQ There€™s another good trivia answer which can win a bar bet: when was Tyson Kidd€™s debut match in the WWE? Or how about David Hart Smith? You might be inclined to answer 2009, but again, you€™d be wrong. The correct answer is 1996, when Kidd was 16 and Smith was only 10. At a house show at the Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on October 5, 1996, the opening match featured a 10-year-old Harry Smith teaming with his cousin Ted Annis (Teddy Hart) against TJ Wilson (Kidd) and Andrew Picnaric. The 10-year-old Smith got to pin on Wilson after a superplex from Annis. The match was part of a benefit show for Annis€™s brother, Matt, who died weeks earlier of a flesh-eating disease. Many of the WWF superstars who participated in the event donated their pay to research on the disease in honor of Matt, including, believe it or not, Shawn Michaels.
