10 Things Everybody Got Wrong About WWE In 2016

7. The Women's Division Did Not Disappoint

The "Divas' Revolution" of 2015 got off to a strong start when Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch all debuted on Raw together, but it almost immediately came tumbling down. The women were split up into factions defined more by in-fighting than competition amongst each other, and it felt like everybody was playing second fiddle to The Bella Twins. Even after Charlotte won the Divas' Championship, fans still weren't responding well. It looked like the NXT women's division had been gutted for no reason, and that 2016 would bring more of the same.

Thankfully, that turned out to be completely wrong. Even early in the year, Charlotte's heel turn began to catch on with fans, and Banks's face push leading into WrestleMania got people interested. The reintroduction of the Women's Championship at the show was widely praised, as was the title bout (even though Banks should have won).

After the brand split, we got two separate women's divisions, but both of them have been strong. On Raw, Banks and Charlotte continued to feud, having great matches throughout the summer and the fall. On Smackdown, Becky was crowned the new champion, with Alexa Bliss emerging as her nemesis. All in all, the year has been great for women's competition.
