Match: Finn Bálor vs. Seth Rollins (WWE SummerSlam 2016)

Why People Hate It: Seth had previous with unruly audiences.

Around two years prior to his Extreme Rules annoyance, Rollins had to contend with a SummerSlam 2016 public that wanted WWE to know how little it liked the new Universal Title design. Co-GMs Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon unveiled the belt before the bell, and it...did not go down a storm.

Fans loudly jeered, and much of Seth vs. Finn Bálor was blighted by chants like, "That looks stupid" or, "New belt". Meanwhile, the prize in question sat on a table at ringside. Someone in the production truck would've been forgiven for sticking a side-eye emoji over the top of it for a laugh.

In-ring, Rollins and Bálor worked some magic and Seth did everything he could to convincingly put Finn over as a credible WWE main-eventer. It worked, but the fan feedback on that Universal Title is grating when revisiting the match in 2023.
