9. The Shield Reunion
With undeniable chemistry, the superstar trio of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns became the hottest act in WWE during their headline feud with the reformed Evolution in 2014. Nevertheless, the programme ultimately broke them up with Rollins' subsequent betrayal.
Since then each man has forged his own path. In fact, this time last year, Seth Rollins was fresh off a babyface turn, embroiled in a feud with Kevin Owens over the Universal Championship. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns was amid a rare run with the US Championship. Over on SmackDown, Ambrose also had his hands full, chasing AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.
The Superstar Shake-Up in April saw all three men once again converge on Raw. While Reigns has maintained his position as 'Big Dog', Ambrose and Rollins had their own soft re-launch of The Shield as a tag. However, with Reigns seemingly stuck in limbo until WrestleMania season, the stars have aligned for a timely conjugation of 'The Hounds of Justice'.
Reigns' position as a tweener makes the revival extremely interesting. Will his heat transfer to the babyface tandem of Ambrose and Rollins or will the positive reception of the Tag Champs reaffirm Reigns as a babyface? Either way, the return of The Shield is surely going to be compelling viewing.
