10 Things In WWE That Started Awful But Turned Out Great
6. Triple H
Okay, Triple H's career didn't necessarily start off "awful," but he failed to shine brighter than his buddy Shawn Michaels for his first three years in WWF. Sure, he won a few midcard titles, but few saw him as a feasible choice for the company's top heel. That was, until Shawn Michaels suffered a career-threatening back injury in 1998, thus forcing Triple H to fly on his own.
While it took him a while to find his footing in the main event scene among guys like The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Cerebral Assassin eventually assumed his place at the top through dishonest means, such as drugging and marrying the boss' daughter and cheating to win matches. He became the most reviled heel in professional wrestling, winning multiple World Championships and retaining them by any means necessary.
14 World Championships later, Triple H has firmly established himself as one of pro-wrestling's all-time greatest. His evolution from "The Connecticut Blueblood" to "The Game" proves that a first gimmick is not a death sentence and that anyone can build themselves into a star over time.
