Talk about a slow burn...

Despite a complete lack of pro-wrestling training, legit World's Strongest Man Mark Henry was signed to a ten-year WWF contract in 1996. Unsurprisingly, the big man struggled in the ring, so he spent most of his early days in nothingburger squash matches. He then joined the Nation of Domination to further hide his weaknesses, became "Sexual Chocolate" so that he could mask said weaknesses behind comedy, and was repeatedly sent back to developmental over the course of those first ten years.

It wasn't until 15 years later when Mark Henry would reach his fullest potential.

In 2011, Henry started inducting his opponents into his so-called "Hall of Pain". He demolished just about everyone in sight and became one of wrestling's most fearsome monster heels at the time. While his only run with the World Heavyweight Championship was nowhere near perfect, it was inspiring to see how much Henry had improved both in the ring and on the microphone. It's stories like Mark Henry's that remind people to never stop working towards their dreams, no matter how much time it takes.

Oh, and that fake retirement promo in the salmon jacket in 2013 was solid gold. Just saying.
