10 Things We Learned From Dixie Carter's Podcast Interviews

4. Expansion Plans

TNA has enjoyed popularity in the UK and has done very well with live events there in the past, so naturally the continued expansion into foreign markets is something that Carter is looking into. Two of those markets mentioned were Mexico and Canada, both hotbeds for wrestling at one time or another, with Mexico currently experiencing a resurgence. Dixie had this to say regarding the two countries: "I've tried to tweet about Canada. We're in negotiations right now. I'm very hopeful that something will break in Canada and will amount to something very soon. I encourage people to call their network affiliates and say that they want wrestling. We have a new deal in Mexico and some exciting plans are going to be happening there in and in south of Mexico which we never expanded to before." If TNA can make it financially viable to travel to these markets, they absolutely should be tapping into this as a revenue stream. There are many areas of Canada that have hungry pockets of wrestling fans that WWE has chosen to ignore where the promotion could establish a loyal fan base.
