It isn't a stretch to say that wrestling fans tend to be nostalgic types. It is often difficult to look at the present without one eye on the past, to view WWE's product without different eras lined up for comparison. WWE in 1985 is a very different beast to WWE in 2016 after all, and what the audience expects from the company is different too.

In truth, WWE is in a better position now than it has been for some time. A number of individuals have been presented front and centre in 2016 whom hardcore fans have been pleading to be pushed for years, and the myriad of talents signed from the independent scene are getting a huge stage to show off their abilities. The less-than-stellar days of the mid 2000s are firmly behind WWE, and a brave new future is on the horizon.

But there will always be things missing, both things that could legitimately improve the product and things that merely are missed due to that aforementioned nostalgia. Some people lament the loss of blood, but that isn't the sort of thing we really need to be seeing on a monthly basis. Others may miss occupational gimmicks, but those people are strange.

Here are 10 things missing from WWE today, and not a single one of them is Demolition.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
