10 Things Missing From WWE Today
3. Legitimate Babyfaces
Which brings up this obvious second, the fact that there are no pure heels means that there are no real babyfaces. Bayley, American Alpha, and Sami Zayn are as pure babyface as it gets on the main roster, but this simply isn't enough. Heck, even Zayn has been guilty of reverting to 'WWE Babyface' on a number of occasions.
WWE main roster babyface characters are booked to be smarmy, letchy, insulting, and puerile. A huge part of the reason Roman Reigns has floundered so much is because of the way he is instructed to talk and act, as he lost a whole lot of momentum in his early single days due to his promos.
WWE sorely lacks old school babyfaces as well as old school heels. What is wrong with heroes and villains in an old school sense? This isn't 'The Wire', not every character needs to be dealing with skeletons in their closet. This is professional wrestling, where Hulk Hogan eventually vanquishes the villain.
