10 Things Modern WWE Could Learn From Its Golden Era

The Golden Era is a treasure trove of hilarious skits, sketches, and segments, all of which took place outside of the squared circle.

Gene Okerlund visiting George 'The Animal' Steele at the zoo. Don Muraco and Mr. Fuji in "Fuji Vice". And who could forget those amazing segments starring Mr. Perfect, as he proved to everyone that he was great at everything, from baseball to bowling, football to darts?

Characters like Perfect and Muraco were great in-ring wrestlers, but some fans remember them today for their legendary skits just as much as their work. Wrestling is, at its core, about characters and the best way to show off a character is to show them outside of a wrestling ring. Fans will connect way more to a performer if they see them as more than just an athlete.

WWE has the money and the resources to start doing this sort of thing again, but are always hesitant for some reason. The Fashion Files with Tyler Breeze and Fandango were a wild success, but WWE never got behind it fully. Now Breeze and 'Dango are nowhere to be seen on WWE TV.

More stuff like that would go down a treat with the modern audience and could create some future stars in the process.
