For those fans that were not too happy with number two, the hate mail is likely on the way for number one. The reason for that is so many of the WWE faithful do not want to see John Cena retain the WWE World title at Battleground. They believe that Roman is the next top guy and they believe that his ascension will come on July 20. They believe that and they're sticking with their pick. But Roman needs more time. He will have his day in the sun. And of course we cannot forget about the other two men in the Battleground main event, Kane and Randy Orton. Kane's chances of winning the championship are likely slim to none as he is obviously being used as The Authority's enforcer. That role may benefit him in terms of getting him some quality TV time but it does not do much to establishing him as a viable option to carry the top title. As for Randy Orton, The Viper's road back to the WWE World Championship is unclear right now. He is always there and can always be used but the likelihood of it happening is perhaps not very good. The reason for that has not only to do with John Cena and Roman Reigns but also Brock Lesnar. Brock has been rumored to return to WWE at some point this year and if he does, the championship will almost certainly be on his agenda. And if it is, then that leaves very little room for Randy Orton. So fans are left with John Cena. Cena retaining the title is the most logical choice, as he can drop it to either a heel or face. Roman, Brock or Orton, it really makes no difference, John can do what it necessary for the company because despite any criticisms leveled at him, Cena is a company guy. Fans are anticipating a change and WWE is biding its time. The change is coming but not at Battleground.
