For many WWE fans, this entry on the countdown may not be the most popular. The reason for that is because Roman Reigns is a man that is definitely on the way up in the company and that path to the top is believed to go right through Battleground. However timing is everything in the business and despite how popular the former Shield strongman may be, the truth is that July 20 may be much too soon for Roman to ascend the ladder in WWE. It's not that fans don't want it and it's not that the company doesn't want it but it should not happen at Battleground. However that does not mean he should not look good. In fact, he should look great. This is what the company wants and what they need to do in order to keep building Roman to the point in which he's ready to become the new champion. They need to get him close and they need to get him very close, to test the crowd and see just how badly they want him to win. Roman needs to come within an eyelash of getting the pin at Battleground; the win needs to be just within his reach and just as he's ready to realize his dreams, it needs to be taken away from him. WWE fans need to see him get close and they need to have his back through the entire match. And when he does not go over, they need to riot. Fans should boo John Cena out of the building. It needs to be obvious that they're not happy with Roman coming up short in the end and they need to make their voices heard. To put it another way; Roman's fans should react just as Daniel Bryan's did when he was fighting The Authority and chasing Randy Orton. Only they need to be much louder and much more willing to have patience. WWE needs to know how prepared the crowd is for Roman to win the big one. And when he does not win it, the true story will be told. Is Reigns just a passing protagonist, a guy that fans are supporting because he's openly defying both Triple H and John Cena? Or is he something much more than that? Is Roman the true heir apparent to John Cena? And speaking of Cena, will Roman take him to the absolute limit at Battleground? The answer to all three questions is yes. Roman's time is coming. But Battleground belongs to John Cena.
