In fact, the All-American American has never been a protagonist during his WWE career. But the confrontation between he and Rusev happened all the same. It was one of those moments that stood out for fans that had been waiting for someone to stand up to Rusev. They wanted someone to challenge him and defend the country that he had been verbally attacking from the moment that he and Lana debuted on the main roster. Finally, Swagger's patriotism had taken a turn for the better and he stood up to the Bulgarian Brute. Their recent confrontation on the July 14 edition of Monday Night Raw garnered a huge crowd response and this angle is red hot right now. And that should carry over to Battleground, where they need to leave the fans wanting more.
