10 Things Next Series WWE Ruthless Aggression Should Focus On

7. WWE Films

Let’s remove all discussion of how WWE films are critically received. They’re sh*t. End of. However, there must be some commercial success in these endeavours, otherwise, why would WWE Studios still exist?

As WWE movies began shortly after the Ruthless Aggression Era’s inception, it would be interesting for the series to focus on this avenue. Exactly how did it fare commercially? What incentives were there for wrestlers to be in movie roles, other than the time off as CM Punk documented in 2015? And, did it lead to any other cross-promotional opportunities to help bolster the WWE into the multinational corporation it is today?

When the first fully produced WWE Studios movie, The Condemned, was released in selected cinemas in 2007, there was a lot of promotion on WWE programming. Even Santino Marella was a victim of a Stone Cold Stunner when he panned the movie by parodying Amy Winehouse singing, ‘they tried to make me watch The Condemned, but I said “no, no, no…”’

These days, the majority of WWE Studios films are much more under the radar - with the exception being Fighting With My Family, which is arguably WWE Studios' greatest release - but they are still consistently producing. Has the venture into the film industry been a successful one? Surely there must be some justification for the myriad of Marine movies.
