Speaking of things fans either love or hate, the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Championships changed hands once again in the now-annual gauntlet match. There was plenty of action in this bout, as five teams vied for the least prestigious but most entertaining title in the entire promotion. The CHAOS team picked up the victory, but 24 hours later the belts are back around Bullet Club’s waist.

The actual winning and losing of this championship matters little, but the presentation of this bout was extremely well done. It was Beretta who picked up the decisive fall, and the former junior heavyweight continues to establish himself as a heavyweight star. Chuck Taylor’s best friend proved himself in an excellent match with Kenny Omega last year, and this was another notch on his belt.

As far as ‘get everyone on the show’ matches go, it was a lot of fun. Beretta looked great, and the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion can be extremely excited about his 2018. We’ll simply gloss over the fact he took the fall at New Year’s Dash.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
