10 Things Pro Wrestling Is Still Terrible At

2. Resisting Senseless Head-To-Heads

AEW NXT
AEW/WWE

Yours truly got caught up in the hype and hullabaloo when it was revealed that AEW Dynamite and WWE's NXT would be going head-to-head on Wednesday nights. Finally, everyone said, the same spirit evoked by ye olde 'Monday Night Wars' would ride again. The truth is a little less constructive.

In fact, this head-on clash is detrimental to both products.

Look at it this way: AEW are beating NXT weekly, but detractors will always point to this as a hollow win because they're only topping WWE's third string brand. The WWE side isn't much better. They're harming NXT's potential by constantly trying to one-up AEW rather than continuing to produce the solid, logical and counter-culture program they once did.

As a result, both companies suffer slightly. Though it may seem stuffy, someone should toy with the thought of switching nights and ceasing this old-fashioned ratings battle. Being honest, it's probably WWE who have to jump first. This head-to-head is doing nothing for them or NXT, and there's a better chance that AEW's audience will eventually rise.
