10 Things Pro Wrestling Is Still Terrible At

10. Pre-Shows That Build Anticipation

Yawning.

That's what you'll be doing a lot of if you tune into any pay-per-view pre-show these days. It says everything for how bland these things are that Todd freakin' Pettengill playing a borderline children's TV host on those old 'Free For All' programs in the '90s was superior to what fans see now.

Both WWE's Kickoff portions and AEW's Buy In pre-games are the most skippable pieces of content in pro wrestling. Tune in and you'll get a match, sure, but you'll also be asked to sit through endless video packages (that will probably air again on the main show) and sports-style analyst roundtables.

Somebody needs to sit down and figure out a way to make these things more entertaining. They totally fail to build anticipation for the pay-per-view that's upcoming, which is damning when that's their only purpose. The hour-long length is also a tad ambitious.
