10 Things Ric Flair Wants You To Forget About TNA

3. Wobbling Around The Ring With Mick Foley

Vince Russo is one writer that is well-known to enjoy using real-life issues for his storylines, so it probably shouldn't have come as any surprise that he helped pen a feud between Mick Foley and Ric Flair in TNA. For years, neither man had really seen eye-to-eye with the other - Flair felt Foley was little more than a "glorified stuntman", and Foley felt Flair had been a terrible booker in WCW. Thus, the pair were programmed opposite one another on television. The verbal duels between the pair were all well and good, if there's one thing both Flair and Foley can do it's talk, but they should never have been handed valuable TV time to square off against one another inside the ring on Impact. The result was a mind-numbingly awkward brawl, one that truly felt like two greats tarnishing their respective legacies just for the sake of it. Bleeding profusely, both guys tried their best, but there was a lot of that old magic missing, and this one came across as a pair of broken down legends working an independent show because they couldn't say goodbye to the limelight.
