10 Things Still Missing From WWE Network
5. A Usable Search Function
Let’s not beat around the bush: the WWE Network’s search facility is absolutely horrendous.
The service’s GUI is clean and simple to navigate, and it’s relatively easy on the eye. Finding specific clips can be an absolute nightmare at times, however, and no matter what you type into the search bar, you’ll likely have to sift through dozens of inaccurate results before finding what you want.
If you want to find a specific point in a specific show, your easiest option to find the show in the vault, wait for it to load up, then hit the relevant bookmark. If you’re watching on a tablet or phone, you’ll have to skim through the time slider until you find the exact spot. Something that should have taken you just a couple of seconds can wind-up taking several minutes, which isn’t very user friendly at all.
There are no options to filter search results by the date, promotion, wrestlers involved, or anything else for that matter. If you want to view the schedule, you have to click through it day by day, and if you search for a specific event, you’ll likely bring up a boatload of match outcomes with spoilers in the title. Despite all the Network’s plus points, the weak search facility might be its biggest problem at the moment, and it hasn’t gotten any better since the 2014 launch.
