10 Things That Are Inevitable Before WWE WrestleMania 33
3. The New Day Will Split
Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods have been going strong for close to two years now. Though their act was initially met with widescale confusion, they’ve grown to become one of WWE’s most popular set of performances. Their crowd support has exploded ever since their gradual face turn, and while there are nights when their act feels a little forced, they aren’t even close to running their course just yet.
That won’t stop WWE from splitting them, however. They already teased it with Wood’s hesitation during their Wyatt Family feud, and with Vince McMahon allegedly seeing huge potential in a Big E singles run, The New Day may not be long for this world. Remember when they cut The Wyatt Family off at the knees by setting Luke Harper and Erick Rowan free long before their time? They’ll likely follow the same blueprint here.
It’d be a highly questionable move, but one that seems destined to happen. All three New Day members have reached new heights with the group, but they’ve already done just about everything they can in the tag division, which may hasten their eventual breakup. Perhaps it’ll happen in the run-up to ‘Mania or maybe long before, but The New Day will likely be over by the time WWE hits Orlando.
