You have every right to feel pessimistic about NXT Stand And Deliver.

Since the NXT of old transformed into the frankly laughable NXT 2.0 concept, the once-hot brand became a puddle of p*ss that has only just started to lose its repugnant odour. New stars to replace those who've moved on have been few and far between, such is the reason for a lack of NXT-to-main roster call-ups. Tony D'Angelo, the Creed Brothers, and Roxanne Perez - all admirable talents - lack what Adam Cole, the Street Profits, and Asuka had before their time.

This could all change at Stand And Deliver.

The newest TakeOver-that-isn't-a-TakeOver is the most TakeOver-y yet. With a Women's title Ladder match, a PWG hoopla over the North American title, an Ace returning home, and Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes - the first headline act to feel deserving of the title in years - NXT is about to redeem itself.

After this, it's goodbye to NXT for EITHER Breakker or Hayes. Not both. That'd be detrimental to this return-to-form NXT, let alone unattainable given the NXT title implications of their slated match. Whoever loses will have little left to give to NXT, both are ready for the main roster, and either would serve as a suitable post-WrestleMania call-up that has been missing for three years.

Even then, the last one was Lars Sullivan!
