10 Things That Could Happen On The Raw Following WWE WrestleMania 39
8. The Draft Is Announced To Take Place Within A Month
WWE won't actually run out of quote-unquote fresh matches for some time. Brock Lesnar has never faced Akira Tozawa, Rick Boogs, or any of the other dregs of the Raw roster. They'd be unideal - a quick payday for Brock and nothing more - but Lesnar's potential final match pits him against the motionless Omos, so WWE isn't against booking rotten matches for their biggest show of the year.
Just think what they'd give him if he ever worked Monday nights!
The point is that WWE needs a Draft or a Superstar Shake-Up or whatever gimmick title they want to give it - and they need it soon.
Raw and SmackDown are suffering from a lack of freshness, its last batch of roster changes coming in October 2021 that changed...nothing. The WWE and Universal Champions stayed put, the Raw and SmackDown Women's Champions switched brands and thus titles, and that was that - the Superstar Shake-Up, differentiating itself from a Draft, allows brands to select wrestlers they already have.
Dave Meltzer reported in November that WWE was looking at the Draft as a post-WrestleMania tool, having forgone their purported planned October date, and given how different WWE may look come 3 April, there's never been a better time for it.
