10 Things That Could Happen On The Raw Following WWE WrestleMania 39

5. Rey Mysterio Waves Goodbye

It's miraculous that Rey Mysterio is still going today. Multiple injuries have taken a toll on the once-innovative luchador; a torn triceps, multiple knee surgeries, and a concussion, to name but a few. His 2015 departure saw Mysterio leave a bloated, disheartened period behind because of these injuries (on top of his general disgruntlement), returning three years later with an added spring in his step. The issue is that when he came back, he was working the same preeminent style he'd been known for decades prior. He couldn't expertly pull off his springboards and slingshots at 43-years-old when he left, let alone now at 48.

Having given plenty over the years, Rey needn't give much more. His body is evidently giving up on him, having suffered four known injuries since his 2018 comeback, so it's time he acknowledged his time is up and call it a day.

All signs are currently pointing towards Rey hanging up his boots at WrestleMania and retiring the next night a la Ric Flair in 2008, who was also inducted into the Hall of Fame while an active wrestler. The correlations are too similar for Mysterio to continue as a regular roster member post-'Mania; given that his opponent is all but confirmed to be his son Dominik, it's too perfect a career-ender to not be a career-ender.
