10 Things That Could Happen On The Raw Following WWE WrestleMania 39
3. The Switchblade Arrives
WWE hasn't had a major Raw after WrestleMania moment since 2012 when Brock Lesnar resurfaced. The pop was immeasurable, the feeling intense, and the moment itself a genuine shock, three aspects that made the night after 'Mania electrifying.
Where's that energy been since?
Last year's Raw after 'Mania, for example, had Bron Breakker recapture the NXT title from Dolph Ziggler instead of at NXT Stand And Deliver two days before. Why? It didn't prove to be a draw. The magnitude surrounding Ziggler from his 2013 post-'Mania cash-in was gone within months. He was no more of a star than Akira Tozawa in 2022. Similarly, 2021 saw the Viking Raiders and Charlotte Flair return, two fine moments, but nothing of the quality that was expected.
WWE needs something to regain the energy that encapsulated the once-anticipated special occasion, and they may only achieve that with the arrival of Jay White.
The latest development in the Jay White free agency saga, per Dave Meltzer, states that White has talked with both WWE and AEW, and is 50/50 in terms of where his next chapter lays. He'd be impressive in AEW but in WWE, he'd be transcendent, a game-changer, and a needle-mover, such is the impact his debut in the market-leader would make. Putting him and Cody Rhodes in the same shot gives WWE that much-needed reminder of what a post-WrestleMania Raw once was.
