With Triple H in control of WWE's developmental territory, the Sports Entertainment giant played host to one of the most exciting collections of one-time indy talent the industry had to offer.

But on the back of an unexpected trouncing at the hands of a newfound rival (that will be touched upon more soon enough) and a real-life health scare forcing a reshuffling of the NXT ranks, a great many of those Levesque lads and lasses were swiftly given the boot as Vinnie Mac paved the way for a 2.0 future.

Among those released Papa H darlings were the likes of his protégé Samoa Joe and one-time partner in black and gold crime William Regal. And many other Triple H pet projects were unceremoniously chucked from the company in favour of a new direction centred around green as grass former amateur athletes being tasked with sinking or swimming on a national stage every week.

The haste in which the returning Trips went about bringing Dakota Kai back into the WWE system says more than words ever could about his feelings towards the decision to stupidly let go of so many talented sensations in his absence, too.
