10 Things That Must Happen Ahead Of WWE Fastlane 2017
6. More Involvement From Triple H
Initially, it looked like Fastlane would be the scene of Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe, which in turn would help build towards the long-awaited Rollins vs. Triple H showdown at WrestleMania 33.
Obviously, recurrence of Rollins' knee injury has forced a change of plans, but given that he’s still expected to be healthy in time for ‘Mania, that means that Fastlane can still be used to hype the likely Rollins vs. Triple H meeting.
For that to happen, though, Triple H needs to return to the fore.
He’s maintained a fairly low profile since the night that Rollins was injured, perhaps with the intention of downplaying the situation so that when Rollins does return it’ll come as a greater surprise. But for such a return to mean anything, Rollins needs something to target.
Whether that proves to be Triple H himself or a stable fronted by the company exec, Rollins still needs to gain some kind of comeuppance on the man he once called a mentor. The first step in facilitating that is to give Triple H a greater involvement in the coming weeks heading into Fastlane, before Rollins then strikes when the time is right—possibly at the PPV itself.
