There's little doubt that AJ Styles goes into Payback as the more popular performer in the main event. Fans just don't like Roman Reigns, something which has been abundantly clear for a while now.

If anything, the booing has intensified since WrestleMania, and shows no sign of easing up going into this Sunday.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have been firmly on AJ's side since making their debut, and they could be crucial in what happens at Payback. Few fans would be distraught to see Reigns have the rug pulled out from underneath him once more, and it'd feel like a legitimate shock if Styles bagged the top prize in WWE.

Afterwards, WWE have options. AJ could either be sickened with himself for winning the title due to outside interference, or embrace it. The latter scenario would lead to the formation (in WWE at least) of The Bullet Club, or whatever the company plan on calling such a group.

Hearing fans revel in his downfall could also enable Reigns to go full-blown heel in the aftermath, determined to win the title back in order to stick it to everyone watching.
