10 Things That Must Happen At WWE Super Show-Down

How do WWE avoid fans calling this supercard a "glorified house show"?

Alrighty, gang. It's time! It's time!! It's Super Show-Down time!! What, you aren't excited? Well... okay, I see your point, but hear me out:

Given WWE's recent history of supercards taking place outside of an American time zone (i.e. the so-called "Greatest Royal Rumble" this past April in Saudi Arabia), the impression we as fans have is that Super Show-Down, taking place in Melbourne, Australia (and way past the bedtime of most American viewers) will be a completely inconsequential show full of so-so matches and predictable finishes. In other words: a "Glorified house show."

However, even aside from the immense hype they've put behind the main event (which we'll get to), on paper, Super Show-Down doesn't look like a bad show at all. From rematches that we know have delivered in the past to new matches that look entertaining on paper, WWE's big card for October hardly looks like the sort of throwaway exhibition Greatest Royal Rumble ultimately was.

Of course, that's all based on what the card is in paper. What ultimately matters is execution. The worst-looking cards can be great with the right execution, and vice-versa with great-looking cards. If the performers just do what they do best - and WWE make the right decisions - this show could be one for the ages.

What decisions do WWE need to make? Let's find out:

10. Asuka And Naomi Defeat The IIconics

In the first of a series of matches that feel completely perfunctory, serving only to get certain people on the card, the duo of directionless babyfaces Asuka and Naomi take on Australia's own Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.

We can already see how this is going to go: Peyton and Billie are going to come out, shout their canned insults at Asuka and Naomi, and then pretend that they're happy to be in Melbourne, but then say something mean about the local sports teams, or that Australia as a whole is lame or something to that effect. Then they'll have a sub-10 minute match in which Asuka and Naomi go over.

Although that result is predictable, it's still the correct one. You could make the argument that since Peyton and Billie are in their home country and they haven't had anything to do since debuting on SmackDown, they could use the rub. However, given that Asuka is still badly damaged from her feud with Carmella, and Naomi, a two-time Women's Champion, hasn't had anything to do for a year, it would be more in the company's interest to build those two back up so that they can be credible challengers to Charlotte and/or Becky Lynch.
