One of the more mind-numbing aspects of NJPW in 2017 was the return of Minoru Suzuki and Suzuki-gun. On his day, MiSu is one of the most unique talents on the planet. His offence is as different as it is intense, and nobody creates a sense of intensity like the man with the worst personality in the world.

But good lord, Suzuki-gun.

If ever there was a faction that needed to die a death, it is this one. Far too many of Suzuki’s matches are full of interference that does little more than force eyes to roll deep into the back of fan’s heads. It needs to stop. It should have stopped already.

The faction isn’t all terrible, individually, but as a unit they are the dirt worst. Zack Sabre Jr. is a fabulous performer, and El Desperado might be one of the most underrated junior heavyweights on the roster. Fans have had enough of the constant interference, though, a statement that was true long before they returned to NJPW at New Year’s Dash back in January.
